Wildlife
Natures Wonders has an abundance of wildlife that are thriving in their natural environment.
This has been the result of "A Dream" and a lot of hard work by the Reid family.

  • Discover the rare Yellow Eyed Penguin who are thriving on Penguin Beach along with the
    Blue Penguins.

  • A breeding colony of the New Zealand Fur Seals that are living in a totally natural
    environment where the males fight for territory and the females raise their pups.

  • Witness a breeding colony of Cormorants, (Spotted Shags) during nesting season as they
    nest on a rugged cliff face above the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean.

  • The majestic Sea Lions are natural sand-dwellers and are often seen at Natures Wonders
    as well as the occasional Leopard Seal, Elephant Seal, Orcas and other species of marine
    life.

  • The birdlife around Natures Wonders  include, Oyster Catchers, Kingfishers, Black Back
    Gulls, as well as the occasional Pukeko feeding around the tussocks, Hawks flying
    overhead, and the occasional Albatross that can be seen souring around the Southlight
    area of the farm.
